last week's discussion at the United Nations!

Here's a link for a run-down of a discussion I participated in at the United Nations last week, in conjunction with the release of What You Wish For, a YA anthology to benefit library construction in refugee camps for people displaced from Darfur. I was fortunate enough to be there with my fellow contributors R.L. Stine, Ann M. Martin, Sofia Quintero, Jeanne Duprau, Karen Hesse, and Marilyn Nelson, with Cornelia Funke and Meg Cabot participating via Skype.

Afterwards, we did a Q&A and signing at Books Of Wonder. The whole day was phenomenal! Thanks everyone for coming out.

WHAT YOU WISH FOR benefit anthology up for pre-orders!

I have a story in a new young adult fiction anthology called What You Wish For: A Book For Darfur, and 100% of its proceeds fund library construction in refugee camps for folks from the war-torn Darfur region of Sudan.

The book is published through the Bookwish Foundation's partnership with Penguin/Putnam Books, and also features stories and poems by R.L. Stine, Nikki Giovanni, Joyce Carol Oates, Cynthia Voigt, Meg Cabot, Cornelia Funke, John Green, Ann M. Martin, Sofia Quintero, Jeanne DuPrau, Karen Hesse, Alexander McCall Smith, Francisco X. Stork, Marilyn Nelson, Naomi Shihab Nye, Gary Soto, and Jane Yolen.

You can find out more about it here, and also pre-order it either from Bookwish or Amazon-- it'll be released on September 15th!
